In Kamensky, a group of scammers who sold non-existent goods and services was exposed

Cyber police Dnipropetrovsk exposed a group of intruders who tricked citizens of more than a million hryvnia. To do this, they created pages of fake stores on social networks and offered a pseudo-rent of housing. The fraud scheme was exposed by employees of the cybercrime department in the Dnipropetrovsk region together with investigators from the investigation department of especially serious crimes of the GUNP region and in cooperation with security personnel of the Sberbank.





Three Kamensky residents on social networks have created more than a dozen page stores. They offered motor appliances, mobile phones, generators, etc. Also, attackers allegedly provided rental services for residential in ski resorts in western Ukraine. For goods and services they took a subscription to controlled bank accounts, but in the future they stopped talking with customers.

Thus, the defendants deceived more than a hundred citizens. The total amount of damage is more than 1.2 million hryvnia.

Law enforcement officers conducted 13 searches of the places of residence of intruders and in their cars. Laptops, mobile phones, bank cards, SIM cards, « black » records were deleted. Special police regiment workers were also involved in investigative actions.

Two defendants were declared suspicious under Part 3 of Art. 190 ( Fraud ) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Suspects face up to eight years in prison. The issue of declaring suspicion to their accomplice is being resolved. Investigative actions continue.

The procedural management is carried out by the Dnipropetrovsk regional prosecutor's office.
