The Tor Project development team has unveiled a new version of the famous browser - Tor Browser 11.5. This release adds new functionality to help users bypass site blocking and web filtering.

In Tor Browser 11.5, developers decided to focus on circumventing censorship, a task that was set back in version 10.5. One of the key innovations is a more advanced user experience: you no longer need to manually “feel” bridge configurations to unlock Tor.

Tor Browser 11.5 features a feature called "Connection Assist" that automatically assigns the bridge configuration that best suits the user's location.
“Connection Assist works by searching and downloading an up-to-date list of options that are best suited for a particular country. The function does not need to first connect to the Tor network using the moat tool, ”says the new release notes.

It is worth considering that Connection Assist is still under development (version 1.0), so the Tor development team asks for the maximum possible feedback that will help develop and improve the system.

In addition to Connection Assist, noteworthy is the new “HTTPS-Only Mode” feature, thanks to which the connection will always take place over a secure channel.
